Why exactly a frog? Each of us(at least once) has seen frogs or toads, but not all have wondered whether these little creatures are of such importance as they seem to be. Is it permissible to consider a frog experimental body or a product for lovers of good food?
A frog is not as simple as it seems to be at first sight. Actually, it is one of the most ancient inhabitants of our planet, an integral part of ecosystem.
Unbroken philosophy, implementation of life circle, analogy to creative process and creation of something new can be traced in a life circle of an egg that becomes a tadpole and then a frog. There is something in common between anabiosis and creativity crisis, both processes result in unique renewal, new birth of life.
Transformations and variety of forms as well as original plastic, wide range of "textures " and colours are extremely attractive for the artist. Previous project exhibitions proved successfully that a frog is a really interesting and acceptable object of ideas generation for modern Russian experts of fine arts whose creative process covers many styles and schools. A frog has indeed become a lucky amulet for painters, graphic designers, ceramists, puppeteers, designers, jewelers and may other artists.
In an attempt to open the door into this mysterious world "MosKVA Expo " project intends to draw attention to frogs' fate and calls for solicitous attitude to these creatures.
Aim of the project is to help people really like these wonderful creatures, to see that they are not only "tailless amphibians " but heroes of tales, myths and legends that are familiar to us since childhood. Wise beauties with sad eyes, beautiful charmed princes.
Artistically reconsidered image of a frog surprises and fascinates, dualism of perception encourages creating downright unreal characters. Each author perceives it in a different way, for each one it is something individual, that's why frogs differ so much: beauties and nearly monsters; anatomically realistic characters and abstract manifestations; philosophic and amusing images.
